New in black velvet pouch. This ornament features the JD Model GP - 2 cylinder kerosene burning engine - No. 9 in a series. This ornament belongs to a series that launched in 1996 and remains a popular and ongoing series. The ornament is brand new and has never been displayed. The finely detailed craftsmanship of this ornament makes the John Deere series this is part of one of the most sought-after commemorative ornament series. The front of the ornament reads: JOHN DEERE Season's Greetings 2004. The following is inscribed on the back of the ornament: The GP, with a 2-cylinder kerosene burning engine, was the first John Deere row-crop tractor. Originally rated at 10 hp., it offered four separate power sources, drawbar, belt pulley, power take off, and a power lift for integral equipment. The GP was built from 1928-1935. No. 9 in a series.
