1963 BOSSUNS KURD Hand-Painted Chalkware SUPERB! Made In England

57 YEARS OLD AND LOOKS AMAZINGLY LIKE NEW!! Bossuns was a series of chalkware made from the 1960s through the 1970s as a set for collectors and most ended up hung on the wall. I remember growing up, we had 3 of these in a row on a wall in the living room. Mostly heads, and animals, the most eerily realistic ones are the faces such as this one. The artists got every wrinkle and curve, and then the painting was awesome. Check the face on this guy! Those teeth and the eyes are crazy! Hand painted so each is slightly different and totally unique. The colors and tones are as realistic as chalkware can be. These things look real! I have 7 or 8 of these to list and while some of the more common ones sell for $28 to $35 including shipping, others are closer to $40+. This KURD from 1963 is one of the best of the faces. You can see the size as several photos I am holding it in my hand. Has the stamp as well as the brand stamp/copyright pressed into the clay.
