CWE - Survey Party Chief

CWE is hiring for a Field Party Chief in our Survey Department in our Roseville office. Position Summary:  Responsibilities will include assisting the Survey Manager with field surveying and office mapping assignments including boundary surveys, ALTA's, topographic surveys, final maps, plats and exhibits and records of survey both in the office and in the field.  Directing and performing preliminary topographic and construction field engineering surveys and other surveys required for County property and right-of-way determinations and for establishing and maintaining benchmarks and monumentation.  Sound foundation in the practices and procedures of land survey techniques. Resolve conflicts, solve problems, train subordinates, and lead a team of land survey personnel in field operations.  Under direction of the Survey Manager, coordinates the activities of a field survey party; performs the most technically complex paraprofessional field surveying duties; and performs other duties as required. Work with only occasional instruction or assistance.  Work is performed both outdoors and in an office environment. Qualifications • Possession of a current California driver's license. • Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English • Minimum 2 years of experience Skilled in: • Using complex optical and electronic instruments and equipment • Reduction of raw field data • Robotic station • GPS Equipment • Use of Civil 3D Autocad Ability to: • Read graphic instructions • Read construction plans and specifications • Prioritize and assign work • Training subordinates on work methods • Prepare reports and written documents, including charts, schedules, and maps • Communicate and use interpersonal skills to interact with coworkers, supervisor to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction
