Stunning Regency Period Antique Portrait Oil Painting of Child

This is a fantastic portrait oil painting of a child dating the English Regency period, circa 1820. There is an enigmatic quality to the gaze of the child as the upright posture in a red dress holding a whip engages with the viewer. I am unsure if this is a boy or girl. It was typical of the period for boys to wear dresses for these types of portraits. There is no visible artist signature. The painting is in a fine period burr maple frame with beautiful wood grain that compliments the work nicely. The painting measures 20” x 13”, The total dimensions with the frame is 26” x 19”. The surface is in good, untouched, original condition but where it has been attached (glued) to the board, the canvas has developed bumps or undulations where the glue has lost its grip here and there. These are not noticeable when viewed in normal light but show when a strong side light is used. There are some areas of losses to the frame, please review the photos. It's a very eye catching portrait that is ready to hang and be appreciated. Willing to ship.
